  9.  AB    We provide an alternative to the maximum likelihood method for making
  10.        inferences about the parameters of the logistic regression model. The
  11.        method is based appropriate permutational distributions of sufficient
  12.        statistics. It is useful for analysing small or unbalanced binary data
  13.        with covariates. It also applies to small-sample clustered binary data.
  14.        We illustrate the method by analysing several biomedical data sets.
